- "Bakhchysarai (Ukrainian & Russian: Бахчисарáй; Crimean Tatar: Bağçasaray; Turkish: Bahçesaray; Persian: باغچه سرای Bāghche Sarāy) is a town in central Crimea, a territory recognized by a majority of countries as part of Ukraine and annexed by Russia as the Republic of Crimea. It is the administrative center of the Bakhchysarai Raion (district), as well as the former capital of the Crimean Khanate.
