- "Aeolis (Ancient Greek: Αἰολίς, Aiolís), or Aeolia (/iːˈoʊliə/; Αἰολία, Aiolía), was an area that comprised the west and northwestern region of Asia Minor, mostly along the coast, and also several offshore islands (particularly Lesbos), where the Aeolian Greek city-states were located.
