- "Franekeradeel (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈfraːnəkəraːˌdeːl] (listen); West Frisian: Frentsjerteradiel) is a former municipality in the northern Netherlands. It was created in 1984 by combining an earlier Franekeradeel municipality with the city of Franeker and parts of the former municipality of Barradeel.
