- Short Description
- In the 1910s Franz Frohse (University of Berlin) created a series of anatomical wall charts which became widely used internationally because of their accuracy and clarity. When the First World War interrupted supplies to America, these German illustrations were reproduced in the United States by the A.J. Nystrom Co., Chicago. The American charts were copyrighted in 1918 and became the classroom standard. The original drawings were edited by Max Brodel of John Hopkins University, who continued to add to the series up to 1939.
