Die Intertype Corporation wurde anfangs des 20. Jahrhunderts in New York, USA gegründet. Sie produzierte ähnliche Zeilengießmaschinen wie die der Linotypes. Die Intertypes besaßen zum einen weniger Bauteile als die Linotypes und waren zum anderen nicht so störanfällig wie diese.
