Short Description
Valentina Abramovna Ioffe (*1910; +1895), professor, doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, the participant of the Great Patriotic War, Valentina Abramovna Ioffe, awarded many orders and medals. Valentina Abramovna Ioffe came to the Institute of Silicate Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union in 1951, immediately after its foundation, and introduced a new direction into research works performed at the institute, i.e., the study of electrical properties of glasses. More recently, she organized a group for the investigation of electrical properties of dielectrics. In 1963, on the initiative of the Director of the Institute N.A. Toropov, the Laboratory of Electronic Processes was created, which, over the next 15 years, was headed by V.A. Ioffe.
Valentina Ioffe was the daughter of Abram Fjedorowitsch Ioffe.
